Celia Cruz to be honored in New York

Several artists will pay tribute to the late Cuban singer in March at the Apollo Theater.

The legendary star of salsa, Celia Cruz, will be honored in New York.  Several artists have decided to perform many of the greatest hits of the singer who , no doubt , revolutionized Latin music.

Anissa Gathers , Cita Rodriguez, Amma MacKenn , José Alberto “El Canario” and Lucrecia are some of the artists that will hit the stage  at the Apollo Theatre in the Harlem neighborhood on March 22.

The show will start with Cuban percussionist Román Díaz , then  the other artists will perform ” Cucala “, ” Yerberito Moderno ” and ” Toro Mata ”  and many other hits that will have the audience moving.

Celia Cruz was born in Havana in 1925 and passed away in New Jersey in 2003 and will be remembered for her contagious smile, love of life,  her homeland and of course music.
