Spring Make Up Trends 2013
Every season sees a different fashion trend that needs to be combined with the right make-up, which is just as important and must be selected knowingly just like any other accessory. From what we’ve seen on the catwalks, what does this Spring have in store?
There’s no doubt about the highly extravagant make-up proposed by the Queen of British Fashion, Vivienne Westwood, to match the splashes of colour and what the brand’s make-up artist Val Garland defines as playful, crazy lines, seen on her catwalk. It’s certainly not the sort of make-up you can use for going to the office every day, so let’s take a look at what’s closer to our own tastes and needs in order to be glamorous and up-to-date.
Today’s look dictates sober and delicate tints.
For lips, the best colours are pink and nude, lending a light, natural look.
As a contrast, you can use much gaudier, stronger colours for your eyes. Nuances range from classical black around the eyes for a smoky effect, to blue and green, very much the fashion this year, and even orange, for a more eccentric character.
It’s important not to be excessive: a lot of eye make-up should be balanced by delicate tones for the lips.
For evenings, invert the colour trend. For the lips, various red tones are back in fashion: from strawberry to bright red, and including peach and coral tones that are particularly suitable for summer evenings. Match these lip colours with eye make-up that doesn’t stand out and thick but groomed eyebrows.
Lipsticks are consequently the season’s real protagonists: whether an almost imperceptible nude or scarlet, this year’s make-up is certainly a kisser.
Embellish and illuminate your look this year with tiny crystals applied around the eyes.
