Calgary International Salsa Congress

The Calgary International Salsa Congress took place this weekend and what a lot of fun it was.

From the performances, performances, workshops, competitions, it definitely was an event well organized without any glitches. In fact it was really great to see that they managed to start all their planned events on time.

We had an opportunity to attend the workshops on Saturday and what a great idea it was as the instructors were top notch and had a really nice way of breaking down the moves to make it easier for everyone to pick it up and remember the moves. It did help that at the end of each workshop they allowed videotaping so that you could go practice at home and not forget the new moves just learned.

The venue at the Hyatt Regency was classy and spacious with a super large Salsa room with two dance floors and a smaller but popular Bachata and Kizomba room right next to it. Definitely a lot of room to dance in light of the large crowds in attendance especially on Saturday.
